We're all well now. It wasn't as scary as the media made it out but we're pleased that we're all good. We missed Brody's priesthood thing in Hlaifax last week, which was a great shame, but never mind, Kenney and the family are still around and we'll see them this weekend.

Well, it was only the matter of time that swine flu was goingto catch up with us. And it has. Isabelle was very unsettled on Wed. so she had more cuddles and sleeps that normal but was still happy to play and eat etc. However the day after she was complaining for tummy ache (she had honey in her tummy as she put it) had very bad diahorrea and very high temperature. I rang the pandemic helpline and they confirmed her case and prescribed Tamiflu which Chris picked up on the way home. Not just one dose but two because he's got it too! His symptoms and mild only Isa is pretty bad. We got through the night though, her fever has calmed down, she still needs the loo pretty often but drinks plenty and seems happier in herself. Now it will be my turn.

I would like to take the opportunity to praise the NHS and all the organisations involved in this how effective they are, they got the Tamiflu straight away from special collection points, no charge and very helpful and prompt in every way.

Kemping/Camping

My sister-in-law lorna has invited us to join them to their yearly family camp, which isabelle and I did for 2 nights at a beutiful campsite up near Ripon. We had a lovely time, Isabelee got on with all the kids very well. We left Chris at home to work, but he was very pleased that we had a great time.

Book Club: My sister's keeper

Again, something very different. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, extremeley moving and gripping. I wish there was no swearing in it (and any other books for that matter) but I guess the way caracters speak unfolds their personality better. I was pretty emotional througout the book being a mother and a sister myself. I loved the sotry but I found it a bit distracting having to think where in time things were happening. You don't only have to keep on eye whos eyes you're looking at the story but also where in time you are and within that is it present or past. it worked out well, but that made it s bit caotic.

I am goint to the pictures this Thursday to see the film version, we'll see how it measures up.

Book club: A certain slant of light

It took me two goes to get started on this book. Once it got going I got into it and didn't take long to finish it. It was an OK book. I did like the concept of the ghosts cleaving to their hosts and the moving into them, but I don't think the details of it was thought out properly I felt that it needed more explanation. Also she could have done so much more with the caracters, I would have liked to get to know them better. And the finish was very disapointing for me again I think she has rushed it a bit. I wouldn't recomend it as a great read, but it is interresting if you have nothing else to read at the moment.
